Local artists once again bring the summer to a bright and cheerful finale with the annual Herts Open Studio in September.
Throughout the month (until September 29), artists and craftspeople open the doors to their private workplace and delight in sharing both their work and their creative thinking with visitors.
The popularity of the annual event is growing as reflected in the number of artists taking part and the increase in variety of work, from painting and drawing to ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, print making and mixed media.
In the Watford area alone 26 artists are poised to welcome visitors in town and country settings, which often add to the experience by being tucked away in places, you have never visited before, from Bushey, Rickmansworth, Northwood and Pinner to Chorleywood, Chipperfield and Abbots Langley.
It is a gentle reminder, there is a lot of beauty to encounter “at home” at the end of the official holiday season. It is free to visit and you are assured a warm welcome.
